Daily Happenings at Oktoberfest

Free Games

Spielplatz & Biergartens

Our Oktoberfest wouldn’t be complete without a smattering of whimsical games that you probably wouldn’t play anywhere but at an Oktoberfest! Check your inhibitions at the door and celebrate the harvest with our crazy fun games and challenges! Games are FREE to play.

  • Stein Hoisting – Our take on the traditional Oktoberfest test of strength & endurance. How long can you hold pitchers of beer straight-out at arm’s length without spilling or bending your elbows?
  • Barrel Roll – Teams of two roll a beer barrel across our course, using only one hand each, to earn the fastest time!
  • Stein Race – Try and score the fastest time across our playing field while you carry six mugs of beer, filled to the brim with yesterday’s beer. Penalties assessed for spillage!

Creativity Tent

with the Banana Factory Arts Center

12-5 PM | Saturdays & Sundays during Oktoberfest
There is fun for all ages at the Creativity Tent, where you can create traditional German crafts and autumn inspired creations, as well as help build a playground with Imagination Playground blocks. Create a unique work that you can bring home from the festival, including a Cuckoo clock, an origami German-style hat and a colorful Wolpertinger!

Construct Your Own Wolpertinger!
Wolpertingers are a mischievous mythological hybrid animal said to live in the Alpine forests of Bavaria in Germany. Kids can color their very own Wolpertinger however they want while learning about German folklore.

Creative Cuckoo Clocks
Originally from the Black Forest region of Germany, Cuckoo clocks are one of the most recognizable crafted items today. Make your own Cuckoo clock out of paper with movable hands and a door for the Cuckoo bird to peek out!

German Castle Coloring Sheets
German folklore is the root to some of our classic childhood fairy tales, including the Grimm Brothers’ Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel and the Little Mermaid. Color in your own historic mountain castle!

Tyrolean Hats
Fold your own green origami Tyrolean hat to wear around Oktoberfest! These traditional German hats are still worn to celebrations and festivals around the world!

Game Time

Yuengling Biergarten – Bean Bags
Hofbräu Biergarten – Quoits

Pitch some quoits, toss some bean bags or take a turn at water pong, horseshoes and washers. No pressure; just fun (and bragging rights).
