Jimmie Vaughan and We Three Coming to SteelStacks
BETHLEHEM, PA–Blues icon Jimmie Vaughan and talented sibling trio We Three will take the stage at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. Tickets for the newly announced shows go on sale Tues., Feb. 5, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Fri., Feb. 8, 10 a.m., to the public at www.steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.
A legend in the realm of blues and rock, Jimmie Vaughan has been crossing classic and contemporary styles from the moment he picked up a guitar at age 13. He founded The Fabulous Thunderbirds with Kim Wilson in the 1970s, which eventually brought him two GRAMMY Awards, and has played with icons such as Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, BB King, Albert King and others. Vaughan’s success also led friend Eric Clapton to invite him to open a series of 16 special concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1991, with Vaughan launching a solo career in earnest three years later. His unmissable performance comes to the Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling on July 10, 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $30-$40.
The siblings that make up pop group We Three hold two things in high esteem: music and family. Joshua, Bethany and Manny’s moving performance on Season 13 of America’s Got Talent – a tribute to their mother, who had recently passed away – brought the judges to tears and catapulted them into the cultural music scene, as well as the show’s semifinals as Judges’ Choice. The trio released its self-titled debut album in December, featuring hit singles like “Heaven’s Not Too Far” “Lifeline,” “Make Up” and “So They Say.” They will come to the Musikfest Café on March 10, 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $25-$50.
