Health and Safety Guidelines

The health and safety of our patrons, vendors, volunteers, staff, and everyone attending our campus, buildings, and events is of the utmost importance to ArtsQuest and we have established a number of best practices and procedures based on guidelines from the CDC, City of Bethlehem and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These include:

  • Following event capacity guidelines established by the Commonwealth
  • Practicing safe social distancing
  • Requiring everyone to wear facemasks in all indoor AND outdoor areas except when eating and drinking while seated
  • Requiring temperature checks prior to entrance of buildings
  • Greatly expanding and enhancing our cleaning and disinfecting procedures before, during, and after events

And of course, please monitor your health! We ask that if you are feeling unwell that you please go/stay home.

Event Capacity & Social Distancing

Following all CDC, state and city health and safety guidelines, campus attendance is being limited to ensure proper social distancing at our events. In addition to limited capacity based on the size of each venue/space, social distancing measures are in place including the positioning of tables/chairs at 6 ft (or more) apart. Everyone is asked to maintain social distancing of at least 6 ft from people outside of their party at all times.

Mandatory Face Coverings

Face coverings – preferably masks – covering both the nose and mouth, are required to be worn at all times, aside from when guests are eating and drinking while seated. Anyone not complying with this policy will be asked to leave.

Temperature Checks

Everyone wishing to enter the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks must undergo a temperature check before entering the building. Individuals must register a temperature below 100.4 to gain access to the building. Those who register a temperature of 100.4 or higher after 2 readings will not be permitted to enter. Out of State Guests

ArtsQuest, in accordance with the state of Pennsylvania, requires that anyone who will cross state lines to attend ArtsQuest-produced events* must have a negative COVID-19 test registered within 72 hours prior to entering Pennsylvania. If a negative test isn’t available or possible, attendees are expected to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in the state. Patrons with any questions regarding how these guidelines might affect their attendance at ArtsQuest-produced events should contact our Box Office at

Cleaning & Sanitation

We have invested in sanitation and disinfection products such as electrostatic sprayers, UV lamps and more. Additionally, our HVAC has also been reconfigured, to allow more fresh air into circulation within our building, and our HEPA filters have also been upgraded.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting an ArtsQuest property you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
