Join the grad students of Standup 201 for their Standup 201 Grad Show!
Learn to hone your joke writing skills, increase your set lengths, and move beyond the open mic. In this class you’ll be lead through writing exercises with Aliya Brown, learn to navigate the business of comedy with Glen Tickle, and explore the booking process from the bookers point of view with Ryan Hill.
This 8-week class includes dedicated writers room time to work on you material with the guidance of skilled comics as well as your fellow classmates.
Aliya will be teaching 6 of the 8 weeks of class, with Glen and Ryan teaching one week each.
Students must be 18+ by the first day of class and must have graduated from Intro to Standup at ArtsQuest or have equivalent experience.
This show will contain adult language and/or situations. Seating will be assigned by ArtsQuest staff upon arrival into the showroom. Anyone coming in between the ages of 13 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No child 12 or under will be admitted. All performers and staff must adhere to our codes of conduct found here.
