Includes admission to the 8/16 screening of To Catch a Thief at 1:00 PM.

To Catch a Thief’s star, Grace Kelly, is perhaps the most iconic of the so-called “Hitchcock blondes.” But beyond hair color, what does that term really mean? How does it reflect Hitchcock’s work, the actresses who embodied these roles, and the cultural legacy they’ve left behind?

In this engaging seminar, we’ll examine the complexities of this trope and how it shaped Hitchcock’s cinematic portrayal of women over his 50+ year career. Join us for rich film history, lively discussion, and—as Hitchcock himself might say—a good eeeeeeevening!

Professor Bob Kilker

Bob Kilker is an Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies at Kutztown University and is a member of the ArtsQuest Cinema Committee. He has a Ph.D. in English, focusing on film and popular culture, from Lehigh University.
