Whether you’ve never written sketch comedy before or have dabbled in the past, this is the class to take if you’ve spent way too long watching Saturday Night Live, Monty Python, Key & Peele, Kids in the Hall, or any other scripted comedy show!

Over six glorious weeks, you and your classmates will watch and discuss a variety of sketches, learn about different sketch formats, and write and workshop your own material. The focus in this course is on developing your individual voice and comic sensibility.

The class concludes with a special opportunity to have established comedians perform a staged reading of your favorite sketch at a show featuring readings of other sketch students’ material as well!

If you’d like to take this class but do not have the means, we encourage you to apply for an ArtsQuest Comedy Class Scholarship.

Students must be 18 or older by the first day of class. Instructor may change based on availability.

Glen Tickle is a comedian, writer, weird dad, and weirder husband from New Jersey. He recorded his debut standup album, (Yes, Really), at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in 2016.

He’s the host of Nerd Nite Bethlehem at the ArtsQuest Center, regularly performs standup there and many other places, and also claims to be the world's greatest Dr. Mario player and dares you to challenge him on it.
