Jane Austen at 250: A Celebration on Screen

It Is a Truth Universally Acknowledged… That Jane Austen Belongs on the Big Screen.

As we count down to Jane Austen’s 250th birthday this December, we’re raising our teacups to the author who gave us iconic heroines, deliciously awkward dinner parties, and some of the greatest love stories ever penned. Jane Austen on Film: A 250th Birthday Celebration is a months-long cinematic series showcasing the many ways Austen’s timeless tales have leapt from page to screen—with elegance, humor, and the occasional makeover montage.

From faithful period dramas like Sense and Sensibility and Emma (1996) to modern classics like Clueless and Bridget Jones’s Diary, this series celebrates the universal appeal of Austen’s world—where social status is complicated, emotions run high, and love (eventually) conquers all.

Whether you’re here for Mr. Darcy’s slow-burn stares, Elizabeth Bennet’s devastating one-liners, or Emma Woodhouse’s well-intentioned chaos, there’s never been a better time to fall in love with Austen all over again.

Love, letters, and lingering glances. Matchmaking, mischief, and Mr. Darcy. Stories so good, they refused to stay on the page.
